Minutes of the Third meeting of the Tri-State chapter
held on October 13, 1996 at Sam Liebowitz's apartment

  • Introductions
    • Welcomed new members and guests
      • new members: Fred Herman
      • guests: Diane Kroll, Helma Kadir, Lee Mallin, Terry Santarsiero
    • Listened to their background information

  • Old Business
    • We agreed that time was quickly running out to choose a project for next year's conclave. We discussed all of the projects which were brought up during the last meeting. We decided to pursue the OTEC model. It will not be a working model but will be used for demonstration and education purposes.
      • Everyone interested in helping with the model should spend the time from now until next month's meeting thinking about how to build the model.

  • Internet Presentation
    • Sam's computer was used to give a brief tour of the internet for those that didn't already know how to use it. It was explained that there is space for core members to create a home page on the FMF's website, and an automated form to help the user put it together.
      • A poll was taken and out of all the people in the room, only three did not use email
      • There was a brief discussion about how the internet will be vital for the communications needs of our group. All those that want to learn how to use their computers for email and/or browsing the internet simply need to contact me, Dmitri Donskoy, for a lesson plan.

  • Updates From Rifle
    • New sites are now being considered for the location of Aquarius Rising.

  • New Business
    • Tri-State Chapter's treasury has $81 in it.
    • Fund Raiser proposed. Ideas are welcome.
      • T-shirt sales
      • Selling copies of Marshall's book
      • Selling Nick's newsletter Cosmic Dreamweaver
    • Discussion of future plans to split the Tri-State chapter into three smaller chapters:
      • Connecticut chapter
      • New York chapter
      • New Jersey chapter

  • Upcoming meeting schedules
    • Next meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 10, 1996 at Sam's home.
